Company

A company built on set.

C Direct Sound Rental SRL is the business structure behind a location sound career that began in Caracas in 2005 and has continued in the Dominican Republic since 2018.

Story

From boom operator in Caracas to sound mixer on international formats.

Felix Castillo started in 2005 as a boom operator and audio operator in Caracas: documentaries, commercials, short films, telenovelas, music videos and reality shows. In 2012 he worked at RCTV on the telenovela “Virgen de la Calle” and later with Escalante Sonidista.

Since 2018 he has worked in the Dominican Republic as sound mixer on Exatlón and Survivor, formats shot outdoors for the United States, Mexico, Hungary, Slovenia and Romania. Alongside that, he has worked as boom operator, sound utility and mixer on Dominican feature films and documentaries.

C Direct Sound Rental brings together that experience, the equipment and the technical training in a company registered with Sirecine to serve national and international productions.

How we work

Three decisions we make on every production.

  • Sound starts in pre-production

Script, locations and shooting schedule are reviewed before quoting equipment, to solve sound risks while it's still cheap to do so.

  • RF coordinated per location

Every location is scanned and gets its own frequency plan in UHF 470–900 MHz. Nothing is left on factory settings.

  • Deliverables designed for post-production

Isolated tracks, reference mix, timecode and sound reports agreed with editorial before day one.

Tell us what you're shooting. We'll coordinate the rest.

We'll get back to you with availability, recommended equipment and a quote.
