UTILITY

Sound Utility

The sound utility keeps the sound department running: they place and hide lavalier mics in wardrobe, manage batteries and frequencies, and solve problems without stopping the set. Felix Castillo worked as sound utility on the feature film La Tercera Edad.

What your production gains

  • Clean, hidden lavaliers

Placement designed for each garment, avoiding the fabric rustle that ruins a take.

  • No sound-related pauses on set

Batteries, cables and transmitters are checked between takes, not when something fails mid-scene.

  • Link with wardrobe and cast

Direct coordination with wardrobe and the cast for quick, comfortable changes.

How we work

  1. 01

    Wardrobe test

Mic placement is rehearsed for every relevant wardrobe change.

  2. 02

    Daily prep

Battery charging and checks, transmitter verification and mic assignment per character.

  3. 03

    Support on set

Adjustments between takes, wardrobe changes and support for the boom operator and sound mixer.

On set
