Behind the team
On-set experience behind every service.
C Direct Sound Rental grew out of the career of Felix Castillo, a sound mixer and RF technician trained by Shure in ADX5D configuration and wireless system coordination, with two decades of productions: from telenovelas and live shows in Caracas to international reality formats shot outdoors in extreme conditions. That field experience guides every technical decision: when we run the sound, when we set up your system and when we prep the gear you rent.

We measure before we reach your set.
Before every shoot we scan the location's spectrum, work out a compatible frequency plan for everything that transmits on set and check it with the equipment switched on. During the day we keep watching it.

Measurements and walk tests: coming soon
Live spectrum — RF coordination monitoring
How we handle RF
- 01
Scan
We measure which TV channels and other signals occupy the UHF band at the location, first with all equipment off and then on.
- TXAdvance + SDR receiver
- Receiver scan
- 02
Coordination
We load the scan and the list of everything that transmits (mics, in-ears, IFB) and calculate frequencies free of 3rd- and 5th-order intermodulation, with backups.
- Wireless Workbench
- SoundBase
- 03
Walk test
We walk the location with each transmitter on while listening to the receiver: dead spots show up before they show up in a take.
- 04
Monitoring
We watch the spectrum throughout the day and switch to an already-checked backup frequency if a channel gets dirty.
- TXAdvance
- Receiver scan
