MIXER

Production Sound Mixer

The production sound mixer is responsible for everything recorded on set: they choose the microphone strategy, control levels and record isolated tracks for each character along with a reference mix for editorial. It's the role Felix Castillo has held on formats such as Exatlón and Survivor and on documentaries such as El Pico Duarte.

What your production gains

  • Isolated tracks per character

Each microphone is recorded on its own track as well as in the mix, so post-production can rescue any line without depending on the on-set mix.

  • A useful reference mix

The mix track reaches camera and editorial with consistent levels, so the edit moves forward without waiting for the final sync.

  • Decisions before the problem

Location noise, generators, wind or wardrobe are caught during rehearsal and solved before rolling, not in post-production.

How we work

  1. 01

    Script read and scouting

We review the script, shooting schedule and locations to identify scenes with sound risks and define the microphone plan.

  2. 02

    Technical plan

Track count, wireless, timecode, IFB and deliverables agreed with production and post-production before day one.

  3. 03

    Shoot

Multichannel recording with continuous monitoring, communication with the director and sound reports per take.

  4. 04

    Delivery

Files and reports organized according to the project's post-production workflow.
